For artists seeking to push their creative boundaries, this intensive two-day workshop offers a deep dive into the art scaling up. Large-format encaustic painting and printmaking presents exciting possibilities, but it also demands a thoughtful approach—balancing technique, materials, and vision to create impactful, cohesive works. Through guided instruction and hands-on exploration, you’ll develop the skills and strategies needed to navigate these challenges with confidence and intention.
Renowned for its luminous depth and rich textures, encaustic takes on new life when applied to larger surfaces. Scaling up requires careful planning to ensure fluidity, control, and strong composition. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge and tools to work effectively on a grander scale, helping you refine your artistic voice while embracing new creative possibilities.
Drawing from years of experience creating large-scale works across painting and printmaking, I will share refined techniques for composition, layering, and execution. Over two immersive days, you’ll engage in both structured exercises and personal experimentation, refining your approach to expansive, dynamic pieces.
If you're ready to elevate your practice and embrace the challenge of large-scale encaustic work, this workshop offers the inspiration, expertise, and community to support your artistic evolution. Join us for an experience designed to transform the way you create.
Materials provided; include encaustic paint, encaustic medium, two cradled panels; 18”x18” & 24”x30”, a diverse selection of printmaking papers, access to a 44”x32” Roland Hotbox for large scale printmaking and all supplies and equipment for painting and printmaking.
